It is with great pleasure that we welcome Ron Dickens to our Scottish Woodworking and Tool Show.
Ron carves beautiful life size birds and other wildlife. We were really blown away by his talent when we first saw his work and we are sure he will be a real hit at the Woodworking Show.
Ron will also be running a one day carving workshop at Brodies Timber soon, so come along and see him at work and sign up for the workshop.
For the first time at Brodies Timber, we will be hosting Tony Murland Antique Tools who will be selling a spectacular range of antique and vintage hand tools.
We are delighted to welcome him up from Suffolk for the Scottish Woodworking and Tool Show on Fri 14th and Sat 15th Oct 10am – 4pm
The Tormek range has long been known for it’s build quality and long lifespan of it’s tool sharpening products and we are delighted to welcome Sean from Brimarc to the Scottish Woodworking and Tool Show to demonstrate the Tormek tool sharpening range.

We are delighted to welcome back Jamie from Lonely Mountain Skis. Last year Jamie wowed us with steam bending wooden skis using only a domestic kettle! Since then he has won the Gold Award from the ISPO awards in Munich for his Sneachda design of ski.
This year he will be demonstrating more steambending, plus some laminating techniques too.
Neil Clark from Treatex will be joining us with a range of Treatex Hardwax Oil products for the Scottish Woodworking and Tool Show. We have tried and tested Treatex hardwax oil on our own furniture products for a number of years and are delighted that Neil will be here to represent Treatex.
Chattan Luthiery – Last year Euan brought along his handmade banjos and mandolins to demonstrate just how intricate the work of a luthier is. He also brought along his band and created a fabulous afternoon of music for us! We are hoping for more of the same this year…..
Andrew has been long established in Perthshire as a Fine Furniture Maker and we are very much looking forward to seeing the show pieces he will be bringing along to the Woodworking Show.
From bespoke furniture, kitchen cabinets and hand crafted interiors, Andrew’s work is a joy to behold!
Record Power Woodworking Machinery
We are always pleased to welcome into the shop Craig Heffren from Record Power, who year on year, brings great showday deals on Record Power products and excellent demonstrations and advice on using the bandsaw. He will be here across the two days of the Scottish Woodworking Show 2016, so don’t miss the opportunity to get expert advice and a great deal!
John Milne RPT
A firm favourite at our shows, John is an established professional woodturner who keeps the crowd captivated! John worked alongside the internationally renowned wood turner Jimmy Clews in Durham, where he learned to produce his hollow forms and take a more detailed look at the design aspect of his turning. Jimmy also gave him an insight into producing ART FORMS rather than pieces of turned wood. We welcome John back to the Scottish Woodworking Show and look forward to some fascinating advice on turning and finishing techniques.
Chestnut Products – First for Finishes
Terry Smart from Chestnut Products will be championing the Chestnut finishes range – a firm and established name in woodworking finishes. A firm favourite in our shop too, whether it is food safe finish or a sanding sealer, we are pleased that Terry will be with us to offer advice on the full range at the scottish Woodworking Show.
Morris of Portabello – Fine Furniture Maker
Coming to us straight from the Aberdeen Art Fair and before the Scottish Furniture Makers Association Show, we are delighted that Janie Morris is able to join us at the Scottish Woodworking Show at Brodies Timber. A graduate of the Chippendale School of Furniture, Janie was previously a Theatre Stage Manager, before turning her hand to Fine Furniture making. We look forward to seeing her work on show and chatting to her about upcoming projects.
SATURDAY 15TH ONLY!! Robert Louth and team from Galgael, the Glasgow based community project building and sailing traditional boats, will be here with us. Peter is a dendrologist and green woodworker now living in Kirkintilloch but originally a ‘bodger’ from Hampshire and will be coming along to demonstrate skills on a pole lathe, spoon carving, work with a shave horse, spoon mule and bowl making! We are delighted to have him and his team along to this year’s show.
